Moose Lodge 2290 / WOTM Chapter 1998 Home

Hats off to all the volunteers who pitched in to make the NYSMA Pool Tournament a great success. Our
chairman, Kevin Hyland, did a fantastic job putting together a super tournament with over 90 men and women
shooters. The shooters even complimented us on a very nicely organized tournament. The funds raised from
this event will be needed to help pay for the repaving of our parking lot this coming summer. Thanks again to
ALL the volunteers who made this event a success. Kevin has informed me he will have a complete report for
our next newsletter in April.
Next up will be a visit by our Director General, Bill Airey on Thursday, March 4th. We hope you will sign up for
dinner (sign up a must) and come out to meet Mr. Airey and be part of an evening of fun and fellowship. The
lodge will also be presenting donation checks to various community organizations. Stop in or call to make
reservations for dinner that evening. The dinner is free, but we are suggesting that you make a contribution
instead to the Mooseheart and Moosehaven Endowment Fund that evening.
The upstairs service kitchen is almost complete. The ceiling is complete and the new lighting will be
completed by the end of February. That just leaves us with the floor. If anyone does or can recommend a
company that can refinish the floor with epoxy paint, contact any Board of Officer with information. We will be
putting this work out for bid soon.
With only two months left in our Moose year, we are a little short of our membership goal. Please take time to
ask a friend, co-worker, neighbor or relative to join our great Moose organization. Why not share this with
others!
Again, thanks to all the volunteers who help keep our Family Center clean, neat and running smoothly.
Without you, we couldn’t be where we are today.
Have a great March and don’t forget to wear your green on the 17th to our annual St. Patrick’s dinner. Also,
please support the Murder Mystery dinner performance on the 20th. The group has been practicing hard for
months to put on this event. They promise you will enjoy the dinner and laugh throughout the evening. Sign up a
must for this event as well

On February 6th we had our 24th Anniversary dinner. It was attended by 70 some Brothers and Sisters who enjoyed a
delicious dinner and some fine entertainment, Karaoke by Tommy B. The cooks and servers did an excellent job. Thanks to
everyone who helped. Everyone who attended received a nice 24th Anniversary coffee mug with a Moose logo on it.
February 13th the WOTM held their Chocolate and Silent Auction with a dinner as well. Again it was excellent and you
couldn’t beat the price. Our own “Tweet” was again the auctioneer, and got me pretty good! I came home with 4
cheesecakes, one basket, two moose plates and hockey tickets. It was for a good cause. Keep up the good work WOTM.
March 4th we will he honored and privileged to host our Moose International Director General, William B. Airey. A dinner
will be at 6:00 p.m. in his honor. I hope to see many of my Brothers and Sisters there. Anyone attending the dinner will have
to sign up on the sheet at the front door by March 1st.
On February 17th the lodge nominating committee was formed and held its first meeting. Election rules were reviewed and
the next meeting will be on March 3rd. “Letters of Intent” can be picked up in the Social Quarters and filled out and returned
no later that 6:00 p.m. March 3rd to any officers or the bartender on duty. That evening the committee will interview all
candidates for office. If you submit a “Letter of Intent”, be sure you are in attendance to be interviewed March 3rd.

Wow, another month just zoomed right on by! Our Chocolate and Silent Auction had a great turn out, everyone seemed to
enjoy themselves. Thank you very much for all the donated baked goods for the Chocolate Auction, and items for the
Silent Auction. Dinner was delicious! Great job Jan Cripps and Jenell Cummings.
In March, we will be having our Green Cap Ceremony March 13 at 4:30pm with dinner to follow. Come out and
congratulate Sandy LeBerth on her achievement. Murder Mystery Dinner will be on March 20th, reservations must be in
prior. It will be a lot of fun, please encourage your friends and family to attend. We will be having a CPR course at the
Henrietta Ambulance on March 7th from 9am-12:30pm. Please sign up so you may learn how to run the AED machine.
We are having another Casino Bus Trip on March 14th. There are very few seats left on the 2nd bus. Remember a paid
reservation guarantees your seat! Bus leaves at 9am and returns to the Lodge at 5:30pm.
We will have the voting for the new Board of Officers on March 25 at 6pm. Voting will take place for one hour only for the
new positions. Thank you co-workers for the fine job everyone is doing!

Wow time is flying by...As you can see...No
application fee in January really paid off...7 new
members!!! Great Job!
